Nah, wasn’t me. Interesting concept though.

why do i agree does this mean i need jesus

Charles, you and I don’t need jesus. Other people need us to teach them how to appreciate the absolute beauty that is rough, sweating, violent buff-dude-on-buff-xeno action.

this sounds like the far more logical course of action.

I don’t know why I keep hearing so many people talking badly about Vaporwave or whatever it Is but when you actually sit down and listen to it it’s pretty legit good stuff, not to mention I love the whole Cyberpunk and late 90’s web stuff.

He just recently changed his history in trying to defend his six hour ERP session with a minor, and claim “I have never ERPed with a minor” yet admit to hugging and kissing them. What a creep.

That’s some profile.

Gross.

  • Question: Idk if you still want to talk about this after all the bullshit that happened today but we were talking before about what would actually constitute proper representation and you had some great points. Care to elaborate on them, cutie? - perfectperfidy

LOL.  I’m really okay, so don’t stress over anything.  I’m going to address humans in this, because I don’t really care about gnomes, elves, or dwarves.  No offense!

I think the baseline that has to be established is where do these people come from.  There are really two avenues that Blizzard can take as far as I am concerned, which is either explaining the variation of races or simply saying that there is no real distinction and leaving everything a matter of simple “chance.”   Someone is dark because they’re dark or light because they’re light.  That being said, if we want cultural representation, then the answer has to be the former: people come from different places and have different origins.

Like, let’s say that you want to play a character that you believe is inspired by Japanese tropes rather than Western ones.  Sure, why not?  The thing is, you’re hit with “well where does this stuff come from?” because really, as far as lore is concerned everyone that matters is a white person and the non-whites are just mindless NPCs.

Earlier today I said that it’d be really cool if Anduin Lothar had been a black guy.  I think that would be a character that had a great impact and enough mystery around him (with so many retcons) that could be cool.  If you had a thing that kind of emphasized why this man, from his antiquated background, is revered as a hero because of his sacrifice it’s like — aaah, fucking amazing.  But that’s not in the cards.

On a small tangent, I also think that representation can be a lot more than just skin tone.  SWTOR was sort of a bust, but when it comes to representation…

That right there is “representation” on a physical scale.  He looks like a black person, not just someone whose skin has been palette swapped to being dark, but the guy is a total badass that’s black, kicks ass, and isn’t just some chump that you don’t care about.  I could sure as shit see playing a black Mandalorian after witnessing him.

Seeing a black elf or just a black guy that’s standing in a city? It means shit all and nothing.

But back to my main point, I’d really like to see Blizzard work on defining races and what they mean before I could even begin to fathom being “represented.”
